How do Germans get worms in their ears?

The German word we are going to speak about in this post is one of these German phrases which do not exist in this form in any other language. Of course there are expressions which describe this phanomen for example in English, but in terms of the colourfulness, creativity and originality they can not really be compared to the German word. That's why it was even word-for-word translated into English. So after this introduction let me present it to you:

Ohrwurm - sticky music, earworm.

und komm mir langsam ziemlich fertig vor.

Allmählich dreh ich durch! Wenn ich nicht sofort schlafe,

dann bin ich morgen tot! Ich zähle jetzt mal Schafe...

Es funktioniert. Ich merke, dass ich müde werde.

Doch plötzlich singt die ganze Herde:

Ich bin ziemlich penetrant, sonst wär ich nicht so bekannt!
